  • Project Car - DD vs. Weekender

Hey, so I'm about to graduate college and start making some money along with the money I've already saved up.

I would like to know your guy's opinion: Should my next project car be a newer DD project more for style or cruising, or an older Weekender project with the intent being making some power and looking good?

My mind has been torn asunder ($5 word there) for months now. My idea is to keep my 2000 B5 A4 Avant Quattro (w/ 5 sp and 1.8t) and either

    DD project:
    a) Start a new DD project car in the form of a newer B8 Avant or a BMW 328i Wagon and bag it for cruising. Replace aforementioned Audi.
    b) Drive my dad's car this summer and do some resto and possibly a K04 or big turbo upgrade on my current Audi, rebuild the head, do bushings, get coilovers, etc. Make my Audi like a new car again with the intent being add 100+ hp, handling, and stance.

    Weekender project:
    c) Get an E30 Cabrio to do some resto and cruising with a built I6. Probly static dropped.
    d) Get an E39 540i and try to make some decent power. Probly stroked V8 and if I work hard enough get a V-F supercharger.

I know I'll need to pull the trigger, but I like to hear what people's opinions are.

All of those sound like they would be fine to daily, just need a beater while they are down for the work.

DD and Project Car don't mix unless you work really fast or have the money to make someone work really fast.

I'd get an E30 coupe and static drop it on some style 5's than DD that car until my dick fell off.

it's all good an well having a DD project, but it's no fun if you need to be places and you can't go cause your car's broke!

Apart from doing major surgery on any of those cars (engine swaps etc) they all sound like suitable DD's!

FYI, I have project car and a DD.
