Try getting pulled up for protecting your number plate with a plate frame/cover.

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me although I'd say it wasn't the plate frame that drew their attention initially... it 'might' have been my front lip being about 30mm off the ground.

In Utah its a secondary offense, meaning the pigs can't jerk me to the curb without a good excuse or having any other "illegal" mods on my car.

Since I've been in New Mexico for work the last few months, I've noticed the bacon patrol doesn't really give a shit. Hell it's surprising to me that so many cars here don't even have front bumpers, much less a front plate. Damned drunkies playing bumper-cars on the freeway.

Drove for 6-7 years w/o plate, received numerous warnings and then two tickets in two different cars within 5 days...$201 each...paid lawyer 345 to drop both charges, eh... then decided to call it a day and put tags on both cars, before I became regular target for them. I got pulled over once in my e34 535i that was blacked out and dark tinted windows. Sorta looked like a drug dealers car or something lol, so it was kind of asking for it, I told him look I have the plate on the window... No dice. didn't cost me anything though because I was nice about it and figured it being in the window was enough and told him I would put it on, granted this was in Pleasanton(in the valley, with all the rich pompous asses, I live in Oakland where the police have better things to do than pull over a kid for simply having no front plates) Now that I have my m3, theres no way ill be putting it on, it ruins the look of the car, I don't even have it in the window and have never even been questioned about it, however I had clear bulbs in my clear signals front and back and a cop pulled me over to let me know that they should be orange so that they don't blind other drivers, then complimented me on my car and was talking about "sporty cars on the autobahn" and asked me if I "was testing out my tires and brakes" in the back roads that I was on and I laughed and said "yeah I guess you could say that" haha. He was quite a cool cop and said nothing about me having a front plate even after walking around my entire car checking it out hah
