  • R.I.P. Jalopnik

Holy cow, has anyone been to Jalopnik yet today? It's horrific, and apparently they are hell bent on keeping the site like that.

I mean, it feels like I'm complaining about a stupid ass Facebook update (which usually don't bug me personally) but this is pretty much seriously just terrible. I do 90% of my surfing on a pretty outdated laptop that can only display a max of 1024x768, and I can say that site is honestly unusable on my laptop, granted I'm in the minority here, but still. The stupid ass advertisements take up easily half of the bar on the right where I'm supposed to be scrolling to find the posts, and using mouse with a wheel seems to be the only way to even navigate the site, so if you don't have a wheel mouse you're screwed. Using the arrow keys just loads that story in the main part, so there's no easy way to surf fast I guess.

Anyhow, sorry for the wall of text, I'm just really sad they destroyed their site like that.

TL;DR: Jalopnik's site is now a pile of rubbish and I'm dissapoint.

I don't think its that bad? I don't like it, but its not that terrible. Me thinks you should update your laptop. The era of 4:3 low res laptops has long passed...

Oh and if you just go to take the "beta" off the beginning, you get the old site back. Well at least on their family of blogs. (I only really browse gizmodo and lifehacker).

It's fine and not bad to navigate through IMO.

Me too. It's too confusing to move around and it's all laggy. They even did it too Gawker, ruined too good websites at once.

Seriously the most horrible site update i've ever encountered. It actually ruined Jalopnik for me.
