My brakes decided to lock up 3 miles away from home at 2am. That was very fun walk home and even better on the way back with all the tools I needed to fix it (including jack and ramp).

I have a few funny stories about my old '97 sentra that I can recall..

-About a year ago i was heading home after I picked up my Grandma from work about 15 miles away from our house. I didnt really know that my thermostat was bad and it was open almost all the way, and once I hit highway (chicago area, winter time, 5 deg F) engine temp dropped below the last line indicating 'cold' lol. I had to slow down and was doing about 40 all the way home haha.

-Another time I was cruising with a friend later at night, when an old rusty beater pulled up to us at the lights (either an old buick or ford). It had two fart cans on each side, tints, bunch of stupid chrome add-ons, and 4 guys in the car. They were all looking at us, and when their driver reved up my friend and me just loled. My sentra was automatic, but I said what the hell, lets play with them, so I put it in N, reved and waited for the green. It was on! Once we got green I snapped it into D and somehow smoked them. They pulled into the first side street and we just kept on straight. We were laughing so hard that I didnt notice my car overheating.. that damn thermo got me again haha.

-Again my poor old sentra, but this time my brother was driving it to work. He gets to drive it since I got my gti. We had the exhaust "fixed" not too long ago, cut the rusted cat off Anyways, he went to work, he works afternoons to night most of the time, I was home at that time. 10 min later I get a phone call from him: "Dude, I think I just lost an exhaust or something.." I said wtf? What ahppened? He responded: "Idk man, come check it out, Im at work." So, I went there and sure enough, the whole exhaust dropped to the floor from header down LOL. There was nothing we could do, so I just janked it off. Turns out he hit a pot hole going to work, bottomed out (somehow, idk how), and basically fucked shit up completely haha. He still drives only with headers on

We started smelling some smoke about a mile from his house and figured it was someone burning some stuff. As we drove the smell got worse. I dropped him off and then though to myself "Is my car burning?" I popped the hood and it was okay, got back in the car and it was way worse, popped the hood again, nothing. Put the hood back down and the cabin was full of smoke. Minutes later, up in flames.

I have seen this pic before.. maybe on here.

But. I havent had much worse than losing lug nuts, or popping radiator hoses.
and blowing a H/G while drifting.

I was on my way to six flags with some cousins and friends. I was driving my jetta and I was trying to keep up with my cousin but drivers kept cutting me off. So this car cuts me off and i get so pissed off. So I'm in the fast lane and the middle lane frees up so i drop her in third and gun it. At this point, "Blacky" (my jetta lol) is screaming and i am telling my cousin "Oh yeah you like that right Vr power bro. Get a dub man". So i cut the driver back off and all of a sudden i see smoke in my rear view and I'm like "oh no". There was construction going on around the area and there was dust in the air so i was praying that it would be from that. I then started smelling anti-freeze and i prayed again, hoping nothing would happen. My coolant light comes on and then my temp begins to sky rocket. "Oh Crap". Comes to find out a hose that runs from the heater core to the block burst. So I'm stuck on the side of the road and I had to call a tow truck. But I had an happy ending because luckily i had a parts car at home. So i made a quick call to my dad, he dropped off the spare hose and some anti-freeze, i fixed it and then rode off to six flags for the last couple of hours we had. Lol what an adventure!

alright i have 2..... only one is in my car though.....

but anyway the first i was in my friends infinity g35 at 3 in the morning and he had it built to the gills. and he had it tt'd. so we were drivin out the industrial parkway which is a road here in ky to get to 64 if you want to google it. but any how he tells me to turn down one of the small side roads and turn around. as i was about to pull out he told me to give it hell. (not many cops on that road.) so i reved it up dumped the clutch and got sideways through 3rd. after it hooked up i ran the hell out of it to about 130 in 4th and i slammed it into 5th and as soon as the boost hit we heard a huge bang and saw smoke. so we pull over to see what happened. we had shot a piston through the oil pan and blew a hole in the block. then he got a new motor and 3 mon later wrapped it around a telephone pole.

ok so my first car was an 81 rabbit diesel and i bought it for $250 and dropped about $300 in it gettin parts that i needed to get it runnin. i had been driving it for about 6mon and it was the middle of winter and the car started to limp. so i slowed down to pull over and it stopped limping but i couldnt steer. after i got it stopped i got out and the cv axel had snapped in half. and thats when i sold it.lol.
Trying to make your domestic JDM is like doing it with your sister. Sure its possible but its still wrong and the end results = ugly child

I was driving to a buddies house one day, the road is pretty smooth but there is a large hump in the road, not paying attention I go over it at 40 or 45 mph and when I cross over it I bottom out and the car stutters for a few seconds and then dies. I shit bricks thinking I had just annihilated the engine, pull off to the side and pop the hood, nothing looks weird, pan isn't broken, odd. Get back in, start it, it starts but the idle is fucked up and it dies a few seconds later. Go back to inspect again and realize that on hitting the floor I sheared off the clamp for the intercooler hose on the bottom. Limped it to my friends and changed.

My Senior year in high school, the day after the prom was my girlfriend's birthday. We took my '94 S-10 to Abilene (about 45 minute drive from my hometown) to return my tux to the rental place and then I was taking her out to dinner and a movie for her birthday. The date went well and we got into the truck to head home. I checked the gas gauge to see if I had enough gas and it read 3/4 of a tank. PLENTY to get home. On the way home halfway between 2 towns, the truck starts acting up and dies. I pull over, pop the hood and look around. Couldn't spot anything odd. I get back in and start it. It starts with no problems. She asks me if we are out of gas. Nope, gauge still says 3/4 of a tank. We drive a few more miles and it does it again. I shift into neutral and coast onto an exit ramp. I check the truck again, nothing. I start it and now the gas gauge says empty. I drive as far as I can and it runs out and won't start again. We are 3 miles from the nearest gas station and no cell phone. About 500 feet in front of us was a big dip in the road. I knew if I could get the nose of the truck angled down that I could probably get enough gas to start the truck. Something I learned from the only other time I had run extremelylow on fuel. So I got her steering and I'm pushing the truck while wearing flip-flops. I have her stop it on the decline. I get in, start it and floor it. I got it up to 85 when it crapped out, shifted to neutral and coasted. We were still about 1 mile away. Luckily one of my buddy's parents were going down the interstate and noticed me pushing the truck and turned around to come help. Needless to say it was very embarrassing and made for a shitty birthday for her. LMAO!

can i add my bike to the breakdown thread?

she's 31 years old, so considering i'm blessed, so far the only fix that's been needed is a push-start because the battery won't hold a charge for more than a week. and a new oil leak somewhere from the head. but these feel like i'm being a bitch compared to some of these posts haha.
