Okay so I've been looking for a car for ages now and I've narrowed it down to 2, both are 1997 VW GTI's

    VR6
1k cheaper and willing to drive it to me due to lack of transportation to look at it

    Drivers Edition
2 towns over and only downfall is I don't want to be running 91 octane yes I know that I change that simply but that involves changing the chip

so what are your opinions thanks guys

imo i wouldnt buy either. but out of those 2, the first one seems better. the owner is more knowledgeable about the car.

I personally dont like to buy modded cars. Id continue looking for a stock MKIII Vr6 GTI, since thats what youre focused on.

I hear you on that, the one problem is I need a car for school and I have little money to spend 3600 being my limit and it's extremely hard to find a stock vr6 over here in good shape

If the ginster one had a better description Id feel safer buying it. but "stage 2" doesnt mean anything. performance doesnt come in stages. i really like that color though lol. the other ad is clearly from someone whoe but a lot of time into that car, and looks like he cares about it

I'm guessing he got "stage 2" from the performance company. Probably intake, exhaust & a canned tune to match.

id say the ginster, lower miles and looks to be in better shape than the first one, and the first one says nothing about the chains with all the other work performed

The car is going to need work done to it before thinking about stance. Just saying.
