For those of you that don't know, I've been on the verge of losing my job since Waterfest 2010. The company I work for was sold that weekend, so my future with the company was pretty uncertain. Since July I've been on a month to month contract working with the new owners, helping to maintain the daily operations of the business. They've been trying to find a few people to do the tasks that I do, but haven't had any luck yet. Last week, they made me an offer. The salary and benefits are way better than I was making under the previous owners (the plus of being bought by a big company). This past saturday I went up to the area and looked at some apartments. I found a couple places I really liked, and the math works out well. So I accepted the position and filled out some applications for apartments. Hopefully I'll know exactly where Im living by the end of the week.
I will be continuing my employment at North American Motorsports. Pretty stoked about it. I really do enjoy what I do there (as much as I bitch and moan). I was hoping to find a way to stay involved in the automotive aftermarket industry. And now I'll be able to.
The last weekend of January, I'll be moving to Clifton Park, NY. Thats a little bit north of Albany. I don't know anyone there, so it'll be a new adventure for me. Only 2 hours from home, not too far of a drive to see friends and family. Early in the year, and some good news right out of the gate.
