  • I've become very angry with my daily...

    I I have a 2000 Jetta TDI as a daily...

Two days ago I noticed one of the fog lights was out
Yesterday my only key snapped off of the fob, I JB Welded it back together.
And I just parked it at home and now there is a large puddle of oil seeping out from underneath...

A month ago my wipers stopped working, but they're fixed now.
I still have no reverse lights.

I don't know what I'm looking for by posting this, but is anyone else mad that their car is spending more time on a lift than driven?

My dad would say, "Sounds like your VW is working fine."

That really sucks man, I'd say source the problems and either get them fixed or get a new car.
Wish I could help out more.

Volkswagens. Because fixing shit is better than driving.

1999 through 2001 are pretty notorious for electrical gremlins.

Check the reverse light switch. Heres a writeup on vortex

Foglight, i have no idea, I'd just trace back power.

Luckily my two VW's have been pretty trouble free, they're just a bit expensive to maintain. The only real down time I've had in the passat is because of shit I've broken or fucked with.

A friend just commented on my facebook status...

He says cracked head are pretty common with TDIs... I'm not going to go look it up on TDIClub or vortex, that would just make me more paranoid... like I need that...

So glad I own a later MK4 (2003). None of the typical MK4 problems have ever hit my car in 7+ years (knock on wood)

Aaron now looks out side, only to see that the entire car has fallen apart.

                  El oh el.

                  Good luck duder.

                  Try this one on.

I bought a car, literally drove it 6 times, totaling MAYBE 75 miles, and an intake camshaft snapped in two, broke a valve retainer, dropped a valve, and gouged a piston. Then When I put it back together, developed a misfire, 3rd gear grind, and stretched the headstuds, in turn blowing both headgaskets.

                  Woot for me.

well to make you feel better. my friend bruce had a '98 jetta vr6 and a month after he purchased it the power locks stopped working, the passanger front and driver rear windows stopped rolling up and down. the sunroof got stuck open then the track broke. the alarm would randomly go off. everytime he locked it from the inside. it would unlock automaticly. and one morning before class. he got stuck in his car becasue literally all four doors were stuck shut.

this is why i will never by a later 90 to mid 00 jetta

Edit: also leaked oil like a bish
