Home Depot Front Lip: Yay or Gay?

I have been seeing more Home Depot lips using garage door molding these days. I had the cove base molding on my 850 (was an old Scirocco II trick that freaked out many a Volvo purists):



The garage door version looks like this and costs an entire $10 to do (vs. about $20 for my cove base one ). They look more like this:

I dont like them. Thier cheap and ricer mod. Only time to be used is if nobody makes a lip for your car and you cannot mod one from another car to work.

A friend of mine has no other real option. Heico stopped making stuff for his car and it was about $600 too expensive before anyway.

I would try lips from other cars first, then use that as a last resort

the only lip "home made" I've seen and I like i little how it looks is this:

It's nice because it's cheap and you can drag it on the ground all the time like he^ said. I rocked it on my old e36 for some time. But ya, on that note, t's definitely gay lol. Mine looked like shit after about 4 days. Team Gileto, yours looks good though.


I need more info on that 850 lip though! My buddy MUST get that for his 850. It's just a vinyl cove molding?

I'd say yay because of the inexpense. For those of us that roll with our cars 'real' low, it just gives that little bit more and if you tear it off, there's no harm done.

On that note, if your car has 2" of clearance, then its just homo, cause you'd never drag it regardless...
