  • I just **** driving an unmodified vehicle

Anyone else just **** driving a stock car?

It's like a itch, I just need to change things, make the car mine.

We all like modifying cars, but I don't know how some people can just have a daily that doesn't stand out. I just cannot be happy with a car just as it came from the factory. It's not a question of daily versus project car, I have both and come spring they should both be low.

So who else out there has this affliction? I mean since I started driving the jetta, I am more concerned about getting it low than the M3...

I can sort of relate to this I guess. I had to drive around my ex gf's 4 cylinder jeep for a little while after I got into an accident. I got back in my car after driving that POS and it felt like I was in a formula one car.

That's the reason I don't have any commonly widespread cars. I **** it when the whole city is full of the same cars.

I have a hard time, anytime i bought a "daily" it ended up getting lowered and dumping money into it making it my own

drove my litle brothers hyundai accent gl with 73 whp to school today- it was my old car- compared to 300whp in my s4- it feels like I wasn't moving- or I was trying to accelerate in 6th-

I couldn't feel when I would turn if I actually was- and it took a good inch until the brakes would kick in

the benefit was I attacked speedbumps with a vengeance

but it will become my daily when he goes away to marine corp- driving the s4 slammed in DC is just asking for something bad to happen- either due to shitty roads or getting car jacked- plus it will give me an excuse to buy bigger turbos

my family has 4 cars, 2 of them work cars, vans ( vw t4 caravelle and a merc sprinter 313 cdi long and tall), then there is my golf, and the family wagon an opel zafira a, 7 seater.
the golf is just mine so it's no surprise it isn't stock, but the other 3, those are a different story. so:
the opel - rides on 16x7 oem opel vectra c wheels now but it had 17x8 mim with polished lip, had 40mm drop springs until my father murdered the hell out of the oil pan , now it's a bigger banger than my 17 year old golf just because i left town for college and it simply doesn't move until i go home.
the vw t4 - no wheels here, no suspension because it has to carry a lot of load, but different headlights, a back wing from a t5 "gti", bullbar ( saved our lives twice no joke), tinted windows, clear taillights, over 500.000 miles on the clock, a shit load of lcd's inside ( 1 in the main hu, 1 in roof, 4 in the headrests) 8 speakers etc
the merc - it is now totaled because of a drunk ass mutha, but the story here is about power, delayed egr, a bit bigger turbo, ecu chip tuning and a couple of tweaks from a nutjob made a 2 something tone van beat a mk3 golf gti (8valve) from 0-60. inside the same story as the t4, the main difference being a 20 inch lcd tv

                  stock blows!!!

once in a while I'll buy a car and think to myself "this one I'll leave stock and just beat around in" then usually a couple weeks later, Im looking for parts for it lol

Yes. I prefer to drive a shittier car with a bunch of nice mods than a nicer, stock car. I could've got an e46 M and kept it stock but I like driving around in something that has flavor.

I also **** seeing sick cars around, that I would normally wave to and talk cars with, when I'm in a shitty stock car.

I agree with the OP and i agree with this. Id much rather buy a car under my means and have extra money to fuck with it, then a really nice bone stock car. Hence why i still have the Passat. I think im fucked forever, i don't ever see myself having a car without a ridiculous drop and stretch

The only way i could drive a bone stock car is if i had it as a daily and it was something i have no interest in modifying, and then something in the garage that is getting serious work done.

It is hard to say, I would not mind having a truck, or wagon to just leave stock to have around to haul things. It would have to be something that I would have 0 desire to mod though.

These x1000. Did the "nicer car" thing for a bit, much more fun to mess around with and mod a cheaper car than have a stock one you can't afford to do anything to.
