Railroad Tracks = angle, or avoid if possible
Parking lot entrances that slope upwards = angle
Man hole covers = change lanes
Park far back in parking spots, you'll hit your bumper/lip/air dam on curbs or parking blocks. Same with backing in, I've racked my exhaust on them.
Pot holes (if you live in the north) = change lanes, or straddle
Road kill = get out of the way, it might not fit under car if you straddle
Objects sitting in middle of interstate = get out of the way, you probably can't straddle it
Car wash bays with a sunken drain in the middle = avoid, you'll scrape
Curbs = avoid. You'll curb the wheels, as well as the rockers/side skirts

Tractor trailers crossing intersections = drive underneath trailer.

I need to do most of these things (except for the last one), and my car isn't even that low.
haha, i used to never even think about man hole covers. that was until i saw a pic on the A3 forum on vortex of some1 destroying their DSG on a manhole cover.

like 10 grand worth of damage.

you will probably never see a man hole cover that is raised enough to hurt your car but if you dooooooooooo

      its gonna hurt.

*- Avoid roads containing speed bumps/potholes/man-hole covers: It doesn't really matter if you arrive at a destination 10mins. later than everybody else.

*- Avoid any type of curb when parking.

*- Make sure your friends' houses do not have steep driveways.

Do I still have to drop the subframe and lift the motor to do the oilpan like I did on the E46?

thats what I did once when I planned on driving my car.

I thought I could clear this little speedbump......ended up breaking an exhaust flange .

Another tip (if not mentioned) always have a jack in your trunk.

Incase you get to a spot that you must raise the car (ie CO's).

                        Drive.
                        Drive over anything and everything.
Damage to your car? Fuck it.
Get stuck? You didn't get a good enough running start.
Think you're scraping too much? Think again.
No damage to be found? You're simply not low enough.

Okay so that's only in rusty.
                        Otherwise, it's all been said.

Always give yourself enough space between your car and the car ahead of you so you can see oncoming obstacles before it's too late.
