My four current cars and the last 15-20 cars before that were payed for in cash, its funny to see peoples faces when you hand them a $10k+ wad of hundos and they act like its the most moneys they've ever seen in their life at once. Now I stick to under $5k cars because I get rid of them way too fast.

I've had quit a few loans in the past, and even with a good rate, I still got raped. When I still had good credit, I had a year old bmw, year old denali, and a two year old chrysler 300 all at once out on loans, that sucked come bill week and I lost tons when I sold them after a year or so.

A guy rear-ended an E30 I had, so I bought the E36 with the insurance money.
            I traded another E30 I had for the E28.

You'll have to accept that $200-$500 roughly (depending on what you get) a month will go to that car just to pay on it. Thats not counting what you want to do to it. Also, if you have a loan on it most banks require you to have full coverage so insurance rates are higher. So that makes it $400-$700 a month. (again just rough figures). Or just can pay cash for something cheaper and make it what you want for $200-$500 a month average. Also you wouldn't HAVE to spend that much a month if you decided to buy a metric shit ton of beer that night and get wasted with your buddies. Also if it breaks down then its a $500 monthly paper weight until you spend more to fix it. Just something to think about from a guy that spends $500 a month just to have my truck.

Loans aren't bad if you have good credit, also a good way to improve your credit if it's sub par.

i always try to be rear ended to buy me some crazy car too, it never happen!

i had a loan for some months in early 2010 and it as definitley not for me, it was not a high bills though but i prefer buy a car cash and riding an older one than having to pay too high bills for a car i finally don't diserve.
i am currently trying to save about 5000$ to buy an E34 touring in some months, buying some bargain's car could be a solution too but it could be fastly a nightmare if one of the bargains is finally a piece of shit...
