Yes yes I know. I'm more curious as to why though. I understand and appreciate the appeal of most music, young and old, with the exception of main stream 'party' songs, country, and dubstep. I tried to listen and like it but just... can't help but despise it. I like the melodic feel and 'togetherness' of other electronic songs, and I think dubstep is just lacking in every category except the intros. It's actually painful for me to listen to. For example - Jakwob remix of Starry Eyed.. I love the whole song except the fucking wobble dubstep. The whole song is pretty and makes sense, then all of a sudden WOBWOBWOWBWOWBWOWBWB ruins everything. The song in general is still awesome and the wobble is probably my favorite wobble of all time. But it still sounds bad to me

Not 'disliking' on it or anything, just legitimately curious why you guys like the wobble because I seriously don't get it.

Some dubstep/wobble is really taken too far, I completely agree. The very first song I thought of when I thought of an example of "effective" wobble is this song:

I think it flows with the song and is just perfectly executed.

Secondly, I love scrolling through this page and seeing songs/artists that I love mixed with with songs/artists I've never heard of, all in the same post, pretty cool stuff.

Lastly, I went to Wolfgang Gartner at Pacha NYC last night and had a blast. The music was fantastic, but I have to say I was very disappointed in Pacha itself. I was expecting a top notch facility but it paled in comparison to Webster Hall in my opinion. It was harder to get around, harder to get into, more expensive to get into, harder to leave, etc. I dunno. I just wasn't feeling it at all.

Anybody else that's been to Webster and Pacha want to chime in? Was I missing something? lol. I do have to say that the chicks dancing in the shower and pole dancing on the main floor were pretty cool.

most of the dubstep out there is retards trying to put as much wobble in as possible. when you hear really good dubstep the wobble is perfect and adds to the song. the problem is so many people think they can make dubstep by just throwing loads of wobble into a tune so as i said earlier in the thread most of the dubstep being released atm is shit.

Agreed 100%. I think Skrillex sucks dick but everyone likes to ride his bandwagon so I don't even bother voicing my opinion outside of civilized discussions like this one lol. Skrillex dissects every remix he does the sameeee exactttt wayyy. I think FINALLY people are starting to realize this and are getting bored of his sound. The best electronica artists have a distinct sound, when you listen to their newest songs you can tell it's the same artist that made your favorites from last year or the year before. Skrillex goes beyond having a sound, he has a song that has 500 different titles

I'm curious as to why this was changed to "the music thread"? Clearly a lot of people like electronic music on here and I made this thread to get away from the top 40/heavy metal/whatever else threads, now it seems we're right back to where we started. Any insight from anyone? lol
