Went to Neil on North Shore Auckland. He was good. I just had A LOT of trouble with camber. So in the end got it.

It's funny cause my car is now certed for a height that is lower than it was meant to be.

Last Wof I was told it was too high... but they let me pass.

This time around though I've gone down to 17" wheels, so need to find a WOF place that doesn't care that the wheels size has changed. (it has a higher profile tyre so technically the same...)

New law is that you have to have a wheel alignment sheet no older than 14 days when you go for your cert.

Your camber cannot be more than 0.5 over the maximum tolerance stated on the wheel alignment sheet. In a lot of cases this means you are allowed a maximum of -1.5 degrees... (nothing really)

Well thats shit, i have to run -4 degrees on the rear to be able to fit mine oh the rear.

Would it be worth putting on small rims with small tires (possibly borrow a mates or whatever) then slamming out your car with no camber then putting on your wide rims with stretched tires after cert? Thats what my plan is gonna be if i have to recert because the cops/wof people dont really check wheel sizes on cert plates even vtnz didnt pull me up on it on green sticker wof.

                  • Can you not get a cert on factory wheels which would leave the cert plate saying OEM? That way you are not bound by it? That is my plan for when it comes to cert time, not sure if it would work though

                    • I got mine certed on the factory rims and the certing guy got the specs down on the cert plate which are 15x7 then chucked on all my other rims. Ive been pulled over before alot and been through a vtnz wof and they have never picked up on the different sizes. Good luck on the certing though!
