  • Wranglin'

Sometimes Monday just isn’t the day for a witty pun title. So let’s just finish up the saga of the Wrangler exhaust, shall we?

Well, it’s not so much a saga as it is a drama-free fabrication job. From start to finish, the room we had to utilize was in plain sight, and there was plenty of it. Last time, when we parted ways last week, we were right about at the midsection:

The exhaust kept coming on and off for various weld jobs, which you know we’re always willing to show off. Even something as simple as an exhaust hanger can become much more visually appealing once you get a little bit closer:

From there, we began working on the rear section, which comprised of all the exhaust aft of the rear axle. The second muffler was brought it for utilization, and from there, it was a matter of attaching the piping in a manner that wouldn’t affect a single millimeter of the Wrangler’s suspension travel. This was especially important, given the lift kit and all the altered suspension geometry that came along with it.

Then we made the tip. Since there was to be only one tip, and it was coming from a spot that’s more up-and-in on the body, we wanted to make sure people knew it was there without being totally ostentatious about it. Did we succeed in that? We certainly think so.

It’s that time….for gratuitous welding shots!

With the tip welded on, and with everything else in place….well, I guess that makes it a complete exhaust? We re-hung it to make sure everything fit together nicely, and there you have it! Sadly, we weren’t able to get video of the Wrangler, as it left pretty much straightaway after the exhaust work was completed, but we’re thinking that the mod bug isn’t done biting quite yet for this Jeep and its owner. Only time will tell!

On one final note, if you haven’t Liked our Facebook page yet, you should!

Excellent! I love the originality and thought that goes into each exhaust exit.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

    Your blast pipes look stupid.
