Sometimes luck just doesn’t go your way. In situations like that, we have a solution that’s always worked for us — buy bigger turbos.

For reasons a-plenty, the stock K04s in the RS6 just weren’t cutting it in terms of peak boost numbers and potential power. Therefore, we moved up to a larger set of snails. But that’s not the point of today’s blog post. While we’ll reveal all the fun stuff later on down the road, once the engine’s back in, we figured we’d share a little bit of this build with you today, to give you something to look at on the internet that isn’t related to Scarlett Johanssen.

Since the two new compressor housings are a bit larger than the last ones, we’re following the turbos’ instructions of “some modification required.” Part of that modification is in the downpipes. We’ve been welding them like crazy for the last day or two, and we figured we’d show you a few of the results we have:

Look forward to some interesting news coming up in the next few days. It’s going to be relevant to your interests, we’re sure of it.

I'm starting to worry about myself because i've been saying this a lot lately but this project is going to be sexual in nature I can just tell. Can't wait to see more of it!

Wait 'til you hear the video. The rollers can't compete with 20+ lbs of boost going through billet compressor wheels.

All in due time. Downpipes are done, now it's just more line routing and clearance triple-checks before we lower the car back onto the motor.
