  • stretched tires

So i just got new wheels and i am going to try and utilize my tires i just bought. The wheels i bought are 18x10.5 and my tires are 215/40/18 nankang ns-20. I know this will be a lot of stretch and (so far) no one will mount them for me. My concern is will that amount of stretch be safe on a DD? From what i understand if i keep about 40psi (?) in the tires then i shouldn't have alot of issues with leakage, but what about the tire just unbeading itself whilst driving? I've only seen two instances of this stretch on the internet which has me a little nervous. Any opinions?

My bro has 215/40/18 on his 18x10s and has never had problems with debeading. You are gonna have a lot of stretch!

for some reason shops are afraid to do 18x10.5, i've had two places tell me they would mount my tires on a x10..makes no sense to me. The local shops wont even slide my tires on so i can stretch them in my garage.

Because those shops dont want to be responsible for you hitting a median and flipping your car resulting in your subsequent death. You have 2 options at this point. Find someone you know that works/ owns a shop. Or head to the hood and have a ghetto shop do it. Most dont give a fuck, and you wont snitch because you don't want to get shot.

Yea i understand why regular shops wont stretch tires. The places i have been trying are known to but for some reason say mine is too extreme. That's why i was curious whether or not it was reliable for a dd.

Plenty Reliable . Ive ran 195's on 10's , got 2 years out of them with terrible camber . Rotate your wheels regular and your fine . I used to work at a big tire shop here on the west coast . We warranty tires even stretched. Its as safe and reliable as running stock widths
