  • Duraflex quality.

So currently I am working on bring a 94 Mercedes sl600 back up to snuff and the front bumper is pretty badly cracked. A new one from the Mercedes stealership is $1800 (!!!) and the AMG one is no longer available. I've seen that they make Duraflex bumpers for these cars but I am paranoid about the quality, I'd **** to have a piece of shit attached to the front of (what was) a $120k car. Any personal experiences with these bumpers?

I've always wondered about duraflex stuff. Sometimes they actually have nice looking parts. In for more info

A customer brought us an MK5 R32 Duraflex bumper and by far some of the worst quality pieces I've ever seen. Very brittle, lots of imperfections, you get what you pay for. It would take many hours to get it to look right by the time it's said and done you probably wouldn't save much money vs going OEM. So stay away from Duraflex

I had a few really close calls on my wheels but i was able to run a smaller width tyre to clear it.

yikes. honestly, for a benz id stay away from duraflex. best bet would be a used oem one off ebay or even someone parting out an SL on craigslist. pay 200$ to have a reputable guy fill some stuff in and respray it. Looking at ~$500 compared to the stealerships $1800... Goodluck!

I used one on a Nissan project back in the day. The fitment was okay, but not great. I would not run one on my Mercedes unless I were at least willing to do a fair amount of fitment work.
