  • Bmw e36 steering wheel shaking

Hi recently lowered the front of my e36 on JOM Blueline coilovers.

After lowering the front the steering wheel now shakes between 60-70mph. Would this be the alignment and wheel balancing out or something else due to lowering.

Hi I do not have spacers on but will be once I get my new rims on.

I believe the mechanic has tightened everything however will have to double check this myself.

Check to see if your tires are good. Next, make sure your wheels are properly balanced. If those two items arent the issue, you could have damaged suspension components. If you got worn out tie rod ends, it'll allow too much play in the wheel. Hopefully this helps you out

Could be control arm bushings. I had the same shakes from 50-60mph in my e34 and it was amplified under braking (pushing more load to the front). I replaced my front upper/lower arms and all shakes are gone now.

Control arms for sure. You lowered the car, which ruined your control arms. When you replace them, preload them properly, or you'll have the same problem in about 5 months.

Rack and pinion cars don't shimmy a lot with worn tie rods, steering boxes do.
