First of all, I know this is a question that has been asked multiple times and I'm mostly interested in just the shocks as I plan on cutting about 1/3-1/2 of my springs. 
The original owner when I bought the car, wanted his sport springs and shocks back when I could source the setup I wanted, so I'm trying to get them back to him as soon as possible.
Can you cut sport springs (BMW's not anything aftermarket) or just the stock ones? From what I remember reading to cut springs you need an even space between each spring to cut it. With that the more important question is which shocks would best match up with cut springs. Bilsteins?
