  • E36 convertible x-brace

    Hey guys,

On my vert I get some issues with the x-brace hitting bumps in the road. I just wondered how people deal with this or if it's just inevitable and I have to live with it. I'm sure I've seen lower static verts and ideally I'd like to come down a touch more but with the roads round here I doubt it will be possible without making a minor issue into a major 1.

Country lanes are already a no go for me as the road camber means I drag it for miles, hence the mud caught up in it in the pic. I was dropping stones and dirt for days after.

Any thoughts/info would be great, cheers!

One option is to sell the X-brace and try to find this:

This is NOT the plastic piece which is also available, this is made from Aluminium and uses the same mounts as the Xbrace I think (never mounted the xbrace myself, so no guarantee for that). It's called the "Aggregateunterschutz" and it costs around 100 bucks at your dealership. Keeps damage away from the lower engine parts by having more ground clearence than with the xbrace.
