Hey guys!
So I have started tearing into my bmw 2002 and I am to the point where I am starting to take care of the rust issues. I will be completely cutting out and welding in new panels that are completely taken by rust, but what are you guys using to take off surface rust and bring the body back down to bare metal before painting? I have tried a wire brush attachment on a angle grinder which works well on non rusted areas. However, I have found that on areas with surface rust it does not seem to bring it all the way to bare smooth metal there is pitting in the metal. Do you guys have any type of grinder that you use to bring these areas down to smooth bare metal? Am I going about this in the wrong way?
