  • HELP: Seals on 3piece wheels leaking

So i recently just mounted a set of DPE's with some streched tires and I noticed they were leaking air. I thought they were just leaking from the beads of the tires, but turns out they were leaking from the seals. I took them to Fluid MotorUnion and they told me the bolts had been cross-threaded and they would need to be completely taken apart, and resealed, so they referred me to Wheels America.

I contacted them and they wanted almost $400 to do 3 wheels. I then spoke with a local wheels guy who seems to have good reviews and had been referred to me by another shop (Project X) and he told me they can be resealed without taking them apart, and just by laying down another layer of sealant. He said if I unmount the tires and bring them he can reseal them for $10 each....

    Help me out here....

Yes you can re seal them that way but its only temporary you need to break the barrels apart at the seam and apply all weather silicone to the center of the barrels then re bolt them together while smoothing out the squeeze out I know there's other step but you get the idea of what it would take for a long term fix
