  • CV Axle Issue

First off, I have a 98 maxima w/ BC coilovers and Raxles. I am getting this odd noise when I am turning left or right under load. If I am going uphill, the noise will not be there. If I am coasting in a turn, the noise will not be there. If I am going straight, the noise will not be there. I feel no added vibration in my steering wheel when I am making turns or high speeds. The car feels normal at my past 20 mph. As soon as I lowered my car to it's current height, the noise got loud. When I was a little higher on my thicker tires, the noise was there but quieter. This is what I have replaced so far to troubleshoot it. I've been driving like this for 5 + months.

-Rebuilt both axles by a local reputable shop when one of the boots tore. they re-greased them, sealed them up,
-New LCA with ES bushings (they were toast)
    -Swaybar bushings/endlinks (they were toast)

Is this just axle bind? I can live with it, not to mention I can get them rebuilt locally for $15.

If you listen closely at 0:05-0:07, you can hear it.

I'd figure I would give this forum a try as there seems to me quite a few lowered FWD cars.

Sounds to me they are just warn out. Most worn out cv joints I have come across "click" when doing tight turns.

I think you'd have to have some serious axle angles for them to be binding, but I guess it's all based on design.

    The Kia has been parted.

But, a lot of them will also vibrate too. Correct? I don't hace that.
