  • Ice cubed Volvo

So I've had this 1994 Volvo 850 non-turbo for about 3 months with it running fine put about 1500 kms on it. Then when my brother drove it one time recently, it just died. He though he had simply stalled but then the car wouldn't run again. It would crank but not start, then eventually just not even crank. I jump started it and it ran for about ten minutes until it just stopped running I looked at it, ripped out the anti-theft crap because both my remotes are busted and it was draining my battery. And today I jump started it, waited a minute and then it fired up! I let it run for like 10 minutes and again the radiator seemed to start steaming a little and the engine just died. Right after that happened the radiator fan started for an instant.
Now I am just puzzled as to why it would do that. I've done some test but as I live it butt freezing Canada it's hard to work on a car outside at -22ºC (that's around -10ºF).

over heated and wrecked the bores/rings? so nips up
need to get it inside, thawed out and looked at with a compression tester and one of those testers that detects combustable gases in the cooling system
Float like a Cadillac, Sting like a Beemer!
