Buying a new car. Help!

Alright so i'm 18 need a car to get to school and work REALLY bad. I got 500 right now should I use that as a down payment? Should I wait til I get more cash and buy a car straight up? Also what kind of car will a 500 down payment get me also I will be having my parents co-sign if that makes a difference. Please let me know what's up

awesome! lol. I would say that buying a car outright would be smart, theres nothing worse than having DEBT... believe me haha. But at the same time, getting the car that you'll want to have for a long time will save you money in the long run. So just find the type of car you like, and either save for it, or if its a the dealer/car lot for a good price, and you can and will make the payments, go for it!

I say there is nothing wrong with payments as long as you can afford them for the length of the loan, but at the same time I have had both and for any short of modding I prefer the car to be paid off.

I would suggest you go for straight up. I got jammed with bills when I was your aged and then I decided to let go of my car after.
