Im sure this is the wrong spot but i need some help.Im looking at an E21 and the po said the shift housing is broken off the trans/body? Is this common is there any easy fix or a kit to repair it?

I'd say your best bet is to use realoem.com to find a decent diagram of the shift linkage. Figure out what is broken and then order the parts. I would recommend replacing every bushing while you're in there because bmw shifters get very sloppy over time. If you're lucky, most of the parts will be the same as an e30 and easy to come by.
