  • cutting one spring

Hi, i have a Mk1 Ford Fiesta, i fitted lowering springs about 2 years ago but the passenger side was about an inch higher at the front than the drivers side, i have tried everything, swapped the complete legs from left to right, when i lowered it i did all the bolts up with the car on the ground, it's had no accidents, it has new shocks, the cause of the lower drivers side i put down to the fiesta having the engine block on the drivers side of the engine bay, i took the passenger spring out the other day and cut a coil from it and now the car sits level, i have not noticed much difference when driving other than my steering feels a bit lighter, i think maybe my allignment needs doing. Will this do any harm? It was a last resort to a 2 year old problem.

A matching pair of springs would have been the sensible option
only joking but this sounds like madness to me

Same height and strength ( if one spring is weaker than the other you will have different levels ) and by mythed i mean, confused something is not right.

the springs were the same strength and height, i bought a set of 4 lowering springs, the front ones were exactly the same, i even swapped them front left to right but the problem stayed on the drivers side.
