  • Getting an e46 low - What's needed?

Apologies if this is the wrong section, but it seemed the most fitting!

So it's nearly time to sell up this:

I'm going to be in the market for an e46 320d or ideally 330d touring. What are they like to get low?

My mk4 was an absolute pain. Arb chopping, notches for driveshaft and steering arm, CV binding and constant splitting of CV boots. Then you're rewarded by a car that doesn't even look low.

What's needed on an e46 to be able to be low enough to tuck a healthy amount of tyre on 18's? Also what is the lowest part underneath? What hits first etc?

It would be super helpful if anyone has any clearance shots of underneath and a shot of the actual car for reference to compare

I'm hoping to have a bit more clearance than my current car but still have decent fitment. 15-20mm higher than this ideally!

      Is it really that simple?!

Any pictures of the clearance I should be expecting tucking a bit of tyre on 18's?

Here's a shot of my e46 undercarriage, im on rokkor tunning coils and almost slammed. I am on 17inch style 5's so idk how much lower it would be on 18's
In this picture I can still go down about an inch or so.
