  • Lowering a E28

    hej guys,

im going to lower mij bmw, but dont have the money for bags or other suspension parts.
but still willing to go as low as possible :P. so hence that im looking for information on the stance works forum.
so here is the question, how many coils can i remove of the stock springs of my e28 and still be able to turn the wheels.

or maybe some tips on how to lower my e28 what size rims/tires.

    sincerely, Thomas from the Netherlands.

then buy cheap coil-over sleeves and small front springs. use same size small springs for the rear

          $200 max?

eh, sleeves will probably raise the car... cut off 2 coils front, 2.5 coils rear. I cut off 4 on my e34, it was very low, too low for the softness of the springs

              3.5 front, 2.5 rear. It's pretty low.

I cut 3.5 all around and couldn't be much happier. The ride is surprisingly decent and I'm pretty damn low.

                    Thanks for the info guys,

My brother found some lowering springs for the e28, dropped it about 6/7 cm.
Not too low but it gets the job done pretty good, and got a hartge set eith 8,5 j and 225 tires that fit pretty snug now.

i cut my stock springs in half, a little more than half in the rear.

you will have to pull the springs out, and is best to roll the fenders with a fender roller. I've done it a few times with a baseball bat with various results

are you running aftermarket shocks or stock? how long have you been riding on cut springs?
