B5 audi - smokey the bandit
hi all .
have a b5 audi 1.8 non turbo avant automatic. ADR motor. stock no performance bits.
have replaced every possible part on an engine rebuild.
car runs well but unfortunately fuel consumption is terrible and MOST frustrating is that on an incline if i floor it and it goes into kick down, i change the weather from sunny to overcast in a second. smoke is greyish not blue.
power is normal. and idles properly. not hunting. also on a low rev (around 2000rpm) the rev hunts! moves up and down - i suspect thats cos of the cam sensor error.
im sure the smoking and fuel consumption are linked somehow.
any clues? have run a diagnostic and only cam sensor error comes up intermittently. have had the throttle body reset as well.
