  • body filler and paint question

first i need to know which body filler to get to shave my trunk like what kind should i get.

Also my cousin painted the car flat black and its starting to come off i was wondering if i need to put any primer on it after i repaint it or not. How can i keep it flat black.

honestly, the best way to do body work is with metal.
    that's pretty much it...

there are, however, new fillers that aren't bondo anymore.

there's a few composite fillers available, which, strangely enough, is what is used on my trunk lid, and is still holding uber strong after a year...

the problem with bondo is the "aura" that surrounds it, b/c everyone has heard stories about how it was improperly used...

don't use the filler as your major way to fill holes/dents, etc.
use it as a "smoothing" agent, in conjunction with other forms of body work.

Bahaha, bondo... Weld holes before filling otherwise they WILL crack, doesn't matter what filler you use. Prep the surface first, doesn't need to be to metal, but yes, primer over paint will help adhersion.

if you want to keep it flat black, plasti-dip it, a couple guys on another forum i frequent plasti-dipped an mr2 and wheels and a few other cars and it turned out great. almost no prep work needed, just clean the car first. and if thats not the route youd want to go then use satin black semi gloss engine paint(the shit thats good up to 500 degrees) and do a couple coats of that and it doesnt streak and turns out pretty clean, doesnt look rattle canned

A good body filler is Evercoat Rage gold. Like others have said though, don't just slap a bunch of it over the hole.
