I just googled an image of e36 M3 brakes, and it's looking like you'll need 5mm spacers, or so. Not sure, but I'm willing to test fit. Were are you located? Can you post a close up of your brakes?

I haven't measured, I can only speak for the width and diameter. Everything else has been by feel, pretty much. I mounted them to my e34 with some spacers and they fit fine. My buddies e36 looked amazing with them on, no issues. If you're interested in buying, I can get those numbers for you.
