I am putting up for sale a set of original Kinesis K18 - 5x100, 18x8 +22et(f) 18x9.5 +29et(r). These rims were originally custom made for another Vortex member from Atlanta a number of years ago. They were on his full euro built VR6 GTI when it was shot for the cover of Eurotuner. When he decided to part his car I purchased these from him for my 04' MK4 R32. They were great rims and many people complimented on the look. I sold the car in 2008 and kept the rims.
The reason the rims stayed with me was that after having the centers resprayed flat black (they were originally flat back but need to be touched-up) in 2007 and having the hardware replaced with stainless steel bolts, I hit a 2x4 with the right side rims while on the highway. I pulled the rims and had the tires removed (I do not remember the tire sizes), put them in individual boxes and have not touched them since. I pulled them out today and wiped them down as well as cleaned the lips by hand with some auto polish to clean them up and remove the leftover slop from the tires being removed.
Overall these rims are currently 7.5 of 10 overall as a set. Two are 100% straight with only some slight tire mounting spots on the outer edge of the rims. The other two are in need of replacement lips or having the existing lips fixed. They are not missing metal and only need to be heated and straightened by a professional wheel repair place. The two good lips, if the rims are split and professionally polished will clean up completely.
I was going to send these to Rotiform to be fixed but I have decided that I don't want to sink any money to only turn around and sell them for more. So here they are...I am selling them as is at the price of $2000 + 1/2 shipping. The centers were resprayed and are in excellent condition. The lips I've already talked about.
