  • 2 Ridetech AMK Compressors

Sold my tank setup so these have to go. They are the best compressor Ridetech offer for any of their kit. They only recommend one compressor for any 5 gallon kit their sale. They are super fast, super quite, and very powerful only 1 equal to 2 other brands compressor. They go for $400 each plus shipping thru Ridetech. I'm only looking for $600 shipped for both compressors.

Do you have CFM specs and maximum rated pressure on these compressors? Ridetech's website doesn't include any specs on the compressors in their kits, and AMK's website doesn't show these models. Very curious to see how they perform, especially since AMK stuff is relatively unknown.

EDIT: In fact, I might be interested if the specs are as good as you suggest.

I got this info directly from Ridetech.

      Max Psi 150
      Volume .91cfm @ 150psi
      Max amp draw 27 amps

Thanks for the specs. When you say they're twice as powerful as other compressors, what are you comparing them to? Just trying to get a sense of how these stack up to the rest of the market, performance-wise.

Viair dual packs 400, 444, 480 and faster then 1 single air zenith ob2. So with 2 of these compressors I don't see anything stacking up to it. Not to mention it' runs quite draw less amp and doesn't get as hot.

Wait, you're claiming 0.91 CFM @ 150 psi is twice as much output as a 480c? A 480c throws 0.85 CFM @ 150 - that's a 7% difference, not a 100% difference. A 480c pulls 23 amps, those AMKs pull 27 a piece, so the claim of lower amp draw is false as well. Even a 400c puts out 0.71 CFM @ 150 psi, which is a 28% difference, far from half the output.

And an OB2 puts out 1.83 CFM @ 150 psi, which is actually slightly more than two of those AMKs, and at 35A, whereas two AMKs will pull 54A.

Something isn't adding up with your claims.

I've been doing air suspension for years. A lot of these company claims this and that about their compressors isn't true. Best way to know how accurate and fast it perform is to run them and time it with a stop watch.

I am not sure how this is relevant.

What is the fill time (on whatever size tank, we can do the math) for your twin AMKs to 150 psi? I will perform the same test with a 444c and we will compare fill times. If the results indicate that one of your AMKs is indeed even close to twice as fast as a two-year-old, fairly beat-up 444c (which is not even as fast as your cited 480c), I will happily retract my concerns above and be on my way.
