  • Wtb: T56 transmission for an LS

I've been trying to find one local for months now and the only ones available are dipped in gold.

Looking for a T56 from either a Camaro, Firebird, GTO, CTS-V, G8 GXP, etc. It needs to be from an LS car, I'm not interested in LT1, Cobra, Corvette, Viper, etc. transmissions. Low miles is good, rebuilt with stronger internals is better. Hoping to spend around $1000, but I'm more than willing to spend more for a better transmission.

Around Narragansett RI is best, I'm willing to drive up to 3 hours away to pick it up. If it needs to be shipped, the price better reflect it.

I did say hoping after all lol. It's just the ones around here for sale are "pulled from a junkyard, no idea condition or miles. $2000", and there's no way I'm going for that.

yeah i dont blame you haha, ive been looking for one for my 88 monte for awhile and have had no luck, you can convert an Lt1 t56 to work with an LS motor but the internals still are only rated to 370lb ft instead of 450
