D2 Coilovers for an E46 (including M3)
It is very hard to find much information about these, after contacting D2 in all Japan, US and UK I finally got some installation instructions emailed to me but no details of the actual coilovers itself.
When I bought them they had covered about 12,000km on a car. I have never fitted them, but had them fully checked over by a local shop who confirmed all are ok (one canister needed a small grove milling out for a 100% tight seal)
I can only really let the pictures do the talking, they have 4x external nitrogen canisters with oil filled gauges for added accuracy, the refilling tool, all 4 struts, rear springs and bolt on adjusters, spanners and a few brackets, installation instructions, pillow top mounts.
They seem in good condition, when they were filled all rebounded fine, they are 36 way adjustable, ideal for a track car or a fast road set up, they can be set very hard, as well as adjusting rebound rates etc.
Only problems I can see are:
Rear springs have slight surface rust where the paint has been stripped, I am currently Googling how the best way to coat springs is as I expect paint would just crack on the first compression
One 'wire' from a front coilover has twisted slightly, it does flow fine still however.
The refill tool comes with 2 attachments for compressors so should fit all. I was advised when fitting to fit them and fill with just air from a compressor, then drive to a shop which can refill nitrogen, discharge them and regas.
I don't know what else to say, if you have any further questions please ask and I will try get back to you with an answer. As for value I am a little stuck as I think they are a custom built set for the E46 as I cannot find any details regarding them on D2 website or from D2 themselves about an E46 application, they did say they would have retailed well over £1000 so whatever they are a bargain.
I am going to ask for £550, but this is open to offers. Bare in mind that £500 new would buy you something like the Apex kit, which has no adjustment at all and this includes the D2 top mounts !
Collection is preferred from Derby, 5 minutes off the A38, however will post (quite heavy) for £25. Payment by Paypal will require fees to be covered.
