  • 1974 BMW Bavaria - Colorado $3000

Previous owner swapped the bumpers to pre-73.

M30 with 4 speed, unknown miles but it's rolled over and currently showing around 9000.

This Bavaria is a good running and drive project with several reliability mods done to it including:
    Electric radiator fans
Larger, internally regulated (modern GM) one-wire alternator
    Electric fuel pump

The car was repainted years ago with the e30 brilliantrot red. It was originally a beige as you can see in the door jams, hood and trunk in the photos. There is significant fading and it is a good candidate for a complete exterior restoration. Or drive it as is and embrace the rat style. Windows and seals are in good condition but the drivers window is broken and needs replacement. Currently has 15x7 trans-am wheels on that have been modified to sit hub-centric. Also have original 14x6 bottlecap BMW wheels with new yokohama tires.

The interior has brand new carpets but the dash is cracked. There are e30 m3 seats in the front as the original ones were thrown out. Has very rare wooden Momo steering wheel and Alpina shift nob.

The car runs well with dual downdraft weber carbs and the electric fuel pump. Electric fans keep it cool in traffic. cons: There is an exhaust leak and it is straight piped with no muffler so it is loud. 1974 so there are no emissions test required and it qualifies for collector car 5-year registration plates in CO! The car was located in New Mexico so there is relatively little rust for the year - see pictures. You can drive this home and putt around while you work on it - fun project car I would love to keep but I am relocating out of state and have to part ways with it. I have TONS of extra parts for this vehicle included headers, carbs, tools, wheels, tires, interior trim, OEM storage cubbys etc.

3k or a trade for a motorcycle of equal value

Damn, if it were the end of August I would be all over this. I'm sure it'll sell before then, but if not, do you think it would make a cross-country drive?

Thanks. I think it would make it no problem, it stays cool, tracks straight and hums right along at 80mph.

Thanks Yanik but I'm moving to San Diego and need to pare down the vehicles until I know where I will land.
