I've had this car for a long time now. But making a real effort to downsize.
1995 bmw 740iL. Currently 162k miles. Will go up as its my semi daily. Black on black.
about 6 years ago I did the whole "facelift" treatment to it, including fenders, grilles, side skirts, door scrapers, headlights and tailights from an 01. The bumpers were redone body color to match as well. Also has a set of m pars on it in decent condition, including the spare. The only other mod that's been done to this is the Dinan style rear muffler mod.
This car has been a Cali car most of its life. Zero rust. I brought it out here to use a few years ago, but have only really been driving it the last two years on and off. I don't like subjecting it to street parking, as I've already lost the front tow hook cover and have a couple of scratches on the bumpers from it. Nothing awful yet but I'd rather not press my luck.
Last couple of years I've done a ton of maintenance, from most recent to least:
Center link
Blower motor and resistor
Cluster ribbon
Front control arm bushings
Front lower control arms
Valve cover gaskets
Battery
Full coolant overhaul
Trans flush
All drive belts
Ps pump and high pressure line
I'm sure there's a bunch I'm forgetting. The car has a couple of quirks, the sunroof is fussy, the headliner is falling and the driver seat cushion has a tear in it that I might have repaired before anything. The front wheel liners have seen better days from when the car was stuck in a snow bank during the snowpacalypse last year. That was the only winter this car has ever been subjected to. It still has the original SLS shocks in it, and they're getting a little tired.
Would be a great wheels and coils project for someone. I have a couple of sets of wheels if you're looking for scene point to get you on your way that I could make a package deal out the door on this if interested. I really love this car, it's fantastic for road trips, I've been cross country and all over in it, but I feel like I'm trying to park a stretch limo in nyc with it.
I'll put up some more pics soon but here's one for the meantime.
