This is my weekend car, or daily driver on nice weather days (15 minute highway commute)
Most of the miles are highway miles on 287 to commute to work in nice weather, or driving out to Long Island and upstate NY in the summers for the weekend. (3+ hours, lots of miles) We are the third owners iirc and no accidents while we owned it, and I think none before either according to the dealer.
I am planning on getting a history check to verify this...

This is a beautiful cruiser - very comfortable ride, but also sporty if you want it to be. This car has hydraulic adjustable suspension from the factory - you can stiffen the suspension with the ABC controls if you want a sportier ride for those highway drives or back road fun - you can also raise the car around 7" to avoid potholes, drive on gravel if you need to.

The 5.0L V8 featured in many of Mercedes' cars is a reliable, beautiful motor, with tons of torque down low so you never really need to give it a lot of gas around town - and passing on the highway is an effortless flush of power from the 7 speed automatic transmission.

If you want to take shifting into your own hands, the 7 speed trans has a tiptronic mode. That mixed with the ABC sport settings and a powerful german v8 make for a wonderfully sporty GT cruiser, whether it's for a daily commute or a weekend drive.

After all, this car was made to drive on the Autobahn at a comfortable 100+mph....

The power convertible roof effortlessly opens and closes within 30 seconds - one of the fastest tops of its time. There is a roll-bar that pops up for safety if the car senses an impending rollover - however you can lift it up if you'd like for an extra sporty look, or for peace of mind. It also helps with wind buffering at high speeds.

This car is in nearly perfect mechanic order as far as the motor and transmission goes.

However, like many Mercedes convertibles, it has it's share of electronic "issues" once the temperature drops below 50 degrees. The car still drives fine, there are just electrical "gremlins" common with these cars that pop up in the cold. For example, the car will tell you the trunk is open when it is not. The ABS or ABC light will come on, telling you there is a problem with those systems - though there is not. Although these lights come up in the cold weather, the car drives fine with no issue - just an annoying beep when you first start the car. Another cold-weather issue is the central locking system. You need to use the key on the key fob to lock the door in the cold.

I have had many maintenance items on the car repaired, ranging from the rubber gasket for the roof (so water does not leak into trunk), a new 3rd tail light (common thing to break) new spark plugs, and am soon replacing the central locking unit in order to make sure it works in the cold weather.
Also, like many Mercedes 5.0L, the car consumes a small amount of oil if you go more than ~5k miles between changes. We change the oil with Mobil1 synthetic as recommended by the dealer, and have the car serviced by a local Mercedes Specialist or the Dealer depending on the schedules (usually I am only free sunday and the dealer is closed... but the specialist isnt) Next issue is I need to get the wheels balanced because a giant pothole threw my alignment and balance off... will be done next week.

The paint on the car is beautiful when kept clean with a coat of wax, however there are some small nicks on the bumper from highway driving and parallel parking in town / garage door dings. I would say 7/10. The front bumper has been resprayed in the past because of a valet backing into it with a truck. (no insurance claim or report, simply needed a quick respray to front bumper) The back could use some touch-ups.

Interior is also an 8/10 - beautiful black leather with no rips or tears. The wood on the steering wheel has some cracking, which is common, but none you can actually "feel" with your hands. Some of the plastic buttons show wear but nothing too noticeable.

mechanically 8/10 as I said the motor and trans are strong - no issues there. It could use some tidying up but I have kept up with the maintenance. I will likely be changing the brakes, getting a balance and alignment within the next month or so to get ready for warm weather. right now the front brakes squeak when cold (common in these cars)

"What does it need?" - I will answer that - IN a few weeks' time I will be having an alignment done, wheels rebalanced, and an oil change, as well as the air pump for the central locking swapped out (easy swap process - the part is the expensive part) Brakes are fine but a bit squeaky when cold, may change those out for the summer. Tires are pretty new.

So, if you want a beautiful, luxurious, sporty, stunning grand tourer for the upcoming warm weather, please email me, shoot me a text (calling is OK too but sometimes I cannot pick up due to work schedule)

my price of $17000 is FIRM FIRM FIRM

I am open to trades up or down, prefer trade towards an ///M, AMG or 996TT...

if I do not get my price, I will simply keep the car. Compared to other, similar models for sale in the area, my price is a fair price. (I checked all for sale on a few sites within 500 miles) and if I don't get it, I will just continue to enjoy it.
