  • NC: 1990 24v vr6 Corrado - fresh paint, shaved bay, bbs rs, VEMS standalone

The time has come for me to sell my beloved Corrado. I bought it July 29th, 2006 and have done a TON of custom work. The car was built with the mindset of “I’m never going to sell it” but I really want to get into a z06 corvette or buy a house. The love I once had for the car just doesn’t seem to be there anymore as my interests have changed. I’ve been contemplating selling it for a while now… I even had the car painted so that I’d love it more…this patched my love for a while but it just isn’t for me anymore. You can get in this car and go. Everything I’ve done is try to make it OEM+ with reliability. I want everything to work on the car like OEM without flipping any situations or tackiness. Below is a quick breakdown of the mods done and some pics below. 97k miles approx.

    •1990 VW Corrado
    •24v vr6 BDF engine swap
    •VEMS (Lugtronic) standalone
•Full, brand new tefzel wrapped wiring harness custom made to wire directly to VEMS standalone. Everything from fuseblock forward has been redone (Lighting, Trans, Engine harness) was made by Caste Systems Performance in NJ. Wiring is best investment I ever made, never have an issue with the car starting and is wired for boost controller (BOOST READY YAY)
•Tuned by Brian Coombs - Wicked Motorsports (VEMS Dealer/Tuner)
•16x9 et 25 BBS RS all around. Refinished with new lips, gold bolts, black/gold caps and polished. I run 25mm spacer in the rear and 15mm spacer in the front.
    •280mm Raid HP Steering wheel
    •10lb autotech flywheel
    •OEM Vr6 clutch
    •O2a transmission
    •Neuspeed Short shifter
    •New transmission Cables
    •BFI stg 2 delrin mounts
    •HPA Clone SRI
    • 630cc Siemens Injectors
    •4 Bar FPR
    • Hardlines by Swoops VC Breather(dumped to ground) with -10an Fitting pressed in
•Edelbrock 70mm TB with custom intake pipe and filter
    •New coilpacks & plugs
•Bluewater PCV block off plate (anodized red finish)
•Brand new French Ecodes from Zeb at 1stvwparts
    •Like new French fogs/turns
    •New vr6 grill w/ color matched vr6 emblem
•Shaved: rear wiper, antenna, exhaust cutout, front turn signals
    •Custom pulled fenders
•Repainted in 3 stage Firespark Red Metallic (OEM VW Color from Scirocco R. I will give you the paint code and mix formula with all details of how 3stg paint was done in order to replicate). Standox Basecoast and Sikkens clear.
    • Shaved engine bay (needs to be repainted to match exterior of car – it is Tornado Red right now)
    • Smoked tail lights
    • New windshield
    • Replaced all window seals and gaskets
    • Custom 3” v-banded Magnaflow exhaust with turn down tip
    • All brand new hardlines for braking system. Replaced rear prop valve and Stainless steel brake line connections to the calipers
    • New Brake Master cylinder
    • New Clutch Master & Slave cylinders
    • New ebrake cable
    • New crack pipe and 12v thermostat housing with low temp thermostat
    • New girling g60 front calipers
    • New Hawk pads on the front
    • Recently replaced Valve cover gasket and Oil pan gaskets
    • New Drilled/Slotted rotors in front
    • R32 control arm bushing kit and poly strut mount bushings in the rear
    • SLC Tan leather interior swap
    • 10” sub w/headunit and all brand new wiring just recently installed

Pros: Get in and go. Show stopper. Beautiful car for someone to finish.
Cons: Engine bay is still tornado red. I had intentions to get it painted to match the exterior this winter. The rear wing works intermidantly…I haven’t been able to narrow it down. Sometimes while you’re driving it’ll go up, then a few days later it’ll come back down. I think it has to do with the control module. The power steering rack is leaking at the connection to the column and needs to be replaced.

    Asking Price:
$12,000 with the BBS RS obo
$10,000 WITHOUT the BBS RS obo

PM me for my cell number

Posting this now in hopes it will sell sometime this spring with tax return season. Gives someone plenty of time to come up with the cash and plan accordingly. The car just sits in my garage – so no worries about it getting scratched and dinged up. I’m sure there are things I’m missing… let the pics speak for themselves. Check out my build thread (in signature) for more pics of the progress of the car over the past 9.5 years.
