  • FS: 1972 Mercedes 220 w/ SBC conversion

$3,500 OBO. I can deliver the car within a reasonable distance if need be as well.

Selling a pretty unique build here. Not for the faint of heart, but guaranteed to turn heads!

1972 Mercedes 220 sedan- Horizon Blue body, with a black flaked hood, roof, and some minor trim accents. Blue interior, tinted windows. This thing is slammed to the ground on the original Mercedes wheels. Everything electrical is working except for an aftermarket tach which needs to be wired up. Wipers are currently not installed, but they do function. (They are also in the trunk). There is a newer radio in the car as well, not that you'll be able to hear it over the roar of the exhaust!

The chassis has 68,XXX on it.

Engine is a small block chevy 350. It's got an edlebrock intake, carb, and air cleaner. This thing also has one of the nastiest cams you will ever hear- and hear it you will as it has straight pipes that exit just in front of the passenger rear wheel. It's been rebuilt at some point in time, but the actual miles on the engine are unknown. There is an electric fan in place of the mechanical one as well as a remote oil filter setup with stainless braided lines. It's got a turbo 350 automatic transmission, and a custom driveshaft was made up as well as custom motor and transmission mounts. The firewall also has some additional bracing added to cope with the stress from all this horsepower.

I do not have the title, however one is not required in NH due to the age of the vehicle. You can get one reproduced for $25 through the DMV should a title be required.

Some things the car will need:
-choke on the carb is not hooked up, so it doesn't like to idle until it's fully warmed up
-some small dents/dings and paint blemishes in the body (hey it's a 1972...) if you wanted it to be perfect
    -tach not hooked up
-battery needs to be securely mounted
    -could probably use tires
-interior could use a good cleaning

I have video of it running/driving as well should a potential buyer like to see that.
