Let me start off by saying it is with great regret that I am posting my E12 for sale today. With a 2 hour commute to school and being a student, and with winter among us, I can no longer feasibly own this car under the circumstances it deserves.
The good:
- A friend of mine and BMW enthusiast picked this car up out of an estate situation from a towing company that got it from the original owner, an elderly woman from PA that had passed away, leaving the car behind. More or less this car has had one long term own it's whole life, whom was elderly.
- 92,000 miles, original miles and will increase slightly
- well maintained. I've done oil changes, a slew of fuses, new alternator, has a new battery, and a couple other things i'm sure i'm forgetting
- paint recently cut and buffed, looks amazing for 33 year old single stage paint. Pictures will reflect this.
- extremely minimal rust.
- Limited Slip Differential, works well as it should. Rare find.
- Cardinal red leather interior. 9/10 condition with only a couple minor blemishes in the front seats.
- M30B28 engine runs strong, automatic trans shifts perfectly.
- all lights work, all gauges work (even the fuel gauge)
- All power windows work great!
The not so great
- a little rust around the windsheild. These patch panels are available for approx. $50 per piece, and I can direct you to them if need be.
- Small (and i mean small) rust hole in the trunk in an easily patchable location.
- speakers need wiring work. The original blaupunkt headunit operates but no sound comes from the speakers.
- sunroof needs to be lubed up. The motor runs however the roof does not slide open.
- a blower motor for the heat is of need. The car warms up inside but the blower is shorted out. When a new fuse is added, the fan will work for a while then the fuse will blow, apparently meaning the blower motor is either clogged, or shorted out. I will be looking in to this.
The modifications:
- 2 coils cut on each corner to lower the car a reasonable amount.
- Revolution RFX wheels. These are the precursor to Schmidt Moderlines. They are sized 15x8. The lips could use a polish, but they're straight and true. They are wrapped in new 205/50/15 Nexen tires. These wheels have not been made in a long time and command a premium.
- Vintage "personal" leather wrapped steering wheel with hub adapter. This is a wheel before nardi acquired the moniker "personal" for use with their wheels. Again, another period correct detail that goes with the interior of the car. Has BMW horn button as well.
I also have both the stock set of wheels as well as the stock steering wheel to go along with the sale.
This is the only E12 for sale in the area, and one of the nicest available by far. Just by having the color combo, LSD, and options that the car does provide a unique vehicle over many other vintage BMW. As stated at the beginning of the ad, it is with a heavy heart that I post this car up for sale, so please don't insult me with low offers, but please, by no means hesitate to send me an offer you think is fair. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.
I'll post my CL ad for pictures. The Stanceworks hookup is $4500 obo. Thanks guys.
