I bought this car ten years ago when i was 16; for $700 bucks. it had 178k, now it has 250k. ( i kinda have to write this manifesto because im so attached tot his car)
Since then ive done everything except F with the motor. driveshaft, exhaust, paint, wheels, recent water pump, so much shit..... it was my first car so when i was 16 i didnt save a lot of the records, but in the last year, ive saved everything.... but it hasnt needed much- here is the story.
Like i said, i bought it in early 2005 from a deaf woman and her husband for $700 bucks after my friends dad had quit servicing it for a few years (Marco Polo independent BMW). It was bashed in the front, fixed it, drove it around, thought it was the shit.....saved some money, got a e36 m3, drove that, sold it, went to college and the e28 just at my house... never really went anywhere.
My mom took a liking to the car as she is much keener to style than most.... knew it was a good looking car wayyyyy before people liked the e28 and it got trendy...she painted it, serviced it, loved it..... and then i took it back when i got out of college.
Moved to the bay area, and ive put about 55k miles on her in 4 years, 40k of which have been in the last year after getting hired with a gnarly real estate company. Since then the E28 has been the sickest work horse, literally had no problems with her; she ate miles for breakfast. i averaged a oil change every 3-4 weeks. NOT ONCE DID SHE LEAVE ME STRANDED!!!! One day i bashed the front sliding into a truck on the freeway, came full circle just as i bought it. couldnt stand driving a bashed bmw. fixed it; its not perfect, thats why i cant justify asking like 5 thousand bucks. through all of the work i did on her, i kept driving her and she didnt complain once. since then ive bought a 2002tii and an r80gs. im kinda obsessed, and its really all because my 535i made me a believer in BMWs.
My mechanic is Anil at Auto Analysts II in Castro Valley in the california bay area. if you call him and ask him about my car he will vouche for it. i service the shit out of this thing...anything it needs.....keep her well lubed and she does what you ask.
3 weeks ago something bad happened to me in my car life...... my company gave me a Prius. a toyota prius? you know the ones. well, i have a truck, and i mentioned my tii and my bike, so i just need to get rid of it.
Id drive this thing in the Fucking Peking to Paris rally and have all the confidence in the world we would make it. Its a goddamn work horse, and i owe it a lot for not breaking down on my, and to my mom for servicing it and painting it and also to my mom for teaching me to take car of my cars..... ill shed a tear some point soon.
I attached photos, ill try to answer any questions i have too...i put style 5s on her, got IS spoiler front and back, never got the fog light housings, never got the diff. interior is pretty tits, minus the hole in the leather where my wallet goes becasue i drive her so much......front lip/spoiler has the pock marks to prove it. its a very honorable car.
ill only entertain OBO from stancworks forum people because im a big fan... but lets be serious people, no lowballs.
