What up. I've lurked the forum here for quite awhile. Read a lot of threads and got some ideas. That all lead me to build this car but I'm ready to move on to the next thing. Its a 1984 Mercedes 300CD Turbo Diesel. Its got Euro Bumpers front and rear and its been converted to a 4 speed manual from a 240D. I bought it with all that work already performed. It has 325k miles on the ticker and if you know anything about the W123 Diesels, you know they run for ever. I've had no reliability issues with this car. Its my daily driver.
-It is bagged sitting on 5" Air-Lift Bags at all 4 corners. Front Bilstein shocks and some shorty "hot rod" shocks from Summit in the back.
-Twin ViAir 480C compressors
-Little Larry's Billet Manual Paddle Valves (1 per corner). These are NOT cheap plastic ebay valves. Extremely well built and reliable...no electronics to fail.
-1/2" DOT approved line and fittings throughout. It pops up and drops fast.
-Twin dual needle air pressure gauges
-3 Gallon Air Tank
-16x7 100 Spoke Wire wheels (I have the knock off adapter and lead hammer
-Cheap DVD Headunit w/ AUX input
Ok so the bad. When you turn the key off, the motor will keep running. This is a common issue with these cars as they rely on vaccum to cut off the fuel supply when you turn the key off. It has done it since I bought the car but they make this SWEET foot operated kill switch called a "clutch." I just put it in gear and stall it when I get to my destination. I have 3 OTHER cars that take priority over this car right now so I never bothered with it.
The climate controls are MIA. The heater box is a little hacked up but it will blow heat when you turn on the fan. I live in southern california so I just roll the windows down and ride. Again, I've had better things to attend to.
It got hit in the ass end at somepoint but you wouldn't know unless you look at the trunk floor.
Its 30 year old car with 325k miles so the interior is far from "mint condition" however it is smoke free and not rips or tears (You will not feel like you need a bath from riding in it...its pretty clean but not perfect).
Now...if you're still reading, I'm just trying to be completely up front with the car's flaws. If you're looking for a 10/10 car, move along. If you're looking for a bitching daily driver that get 25+MPG, will run FOREVER, looks classy as fuck rolling down the road, you found it.
Price is $4000. Looking for a 73-80 C10 Shortbed Stepside truck for trade (kind of specific but you never know). Car is in San Diego. Email me at ryclef331@gmail.com if you'd like and I can text or call. Thanks guys.
