  • NJ: 1983 BMW e21 320i stick, clean. Good complete resto base/daily driver

I have a very straight and 99% rust free 1983 320i, it's 100% stock and unmolested (aftermarket radio, but have stock radio as well), was owned by an older gentleman for the entire life of the car before I bought it around 2 months ago. The car is beautiful and if you are looking at this ad probably know is very hard to find, even harder is to find one in such a good condition both mechanically and structurally.
It turns over every time, holds idle, shifts smooth(brand new clutch slave cylinder), tires have good life on them, I've driven it around town in 85 degree weather and it won't go a millimeter over half on the thermostat. The interior is immaculate just could use a little detailing, the only issues is the rear shelf pictured (easy fix) and there is a quarter sized rip on the back of the drivers seat (another easy fix).

Few little projects: the cat does rattle and the o2 sensor light is on I was just going to straight pipe it or put in a resonator, very easy in a m10 e21 the cat is in a straight section of pipe not like the e30 cat that is bent. The hazard lights don't work either could be easy haven't really messed with it much. The small rust on the car is in the trunk there must have been a bit of water. There are a few little (2mm to 5mm) rust holes. If I was keeping it I would just grind down around the holes and just go over the area with a welder then coat in rust proofing paint.

I bought the car because it is the exact same make model, color, trans, engine, everything as my father's first BMW. I don't really need to get rid of it and will probably continue to spruce it up while it is in my ownership. The only reason I'm posting this is because my mom wouldn't let my father keep it, so I figured I would put it up for sale to generate some funds for my e30 as I want to focus on that to get it ready for autocross.

The price is $4,000 obo, feel free to shoot me an offer before you come look at it, just so we aren't wasting anyones time. Will entertain trades for older Bimmers as well (93 and older).

I have more pics I can send via cell or email.

    Best,
    Brent
