  • V8 Swapped E36 Sedan. $6500.(PA)

    I am considering selling my 1995 318i with Chevrolet 350 V8 Swap.

This car has been a never ending project and it is far from perfect. See all details below and contact me with any questions. Please refrain from contacting me unless you are genuinely interested in the car. The linked build thread should answer any generic questions about a V8 Swap.

It is running and driving and I haven't hesitated to take it on several long trips over the years.

    Car:

    1995 BMW 318i
    210K miles on Chassis

    Driveline:

    1979 Chevrolet 350 V8 (SBC)
Holley 650 Carb, Holley Intake Manifold
    Modified Block Hugger headers
    GM Performance Chrome Valve Covers
    Proform HEI Distributor

    BMW 3.91 Welded Rear

Shortened GM Driveshaft (needs properly balanced)

Camaro T5 Five Speed transmission with LUK clutch and Flywheel. Energy Trans mount.

BMW Clutch slave and master cylinder

6 Cylinder BMW radiator with 18” electric slimfan

    Suspension/Wheels

    Raceland Coilovers
    Bilstein HD rear Shocks
E36 M3 front Brakes, Hubs, knuckles.
    E36 325i Subframes/trailing arms
    17x9, 17x10.5 Mustang FR500 wheels with 33mm adapters
215/45 Bridgestone Front Tires, 245/40 Michelin Rear Tires

    Interior

There isn’t much. No door cards, No headlinder, No carpet.
Heater box has been removed, No heater, No blower, No ac.
    No Radio. No speakers.

Lights and windshield wipers are your “options”

    Momo Steering wheel and Hub
    Corbeau seats
    Joes’ racing ignition switch panel.
    Wink Mirror
    Rear seat is still there.

    Exterior

The car has a crappy Single Stage Black paint job.

    M3 front bumper
    M3 Mirrors
    M3 Twisty Skirts
    M3 door moldings
    Depo Glass headlights with HIDs
Rear fenders are widened approximately 3”
    Front fenders are Flared 1”
    Cowl Hood
    M3 Rear diffuser
Two Piece LTW style Midrise Spoiler
    Smoked Front Corner lights
    Smoked Top Tail lights

    Other Information:

Engine bay is shaved and the work is showing age and abuse
Fuse box has been moved under driver side of dash.
Many unnecessary wires have been removed from the car.

Speedometer, fuel gauge and dash lights work. Other factory gauges do not. Temp, Voltage and Oil pressure gauges are mounted in a panel on the dash. Currently there is no tach.

The Car will be sold with title for track use only. You will sign a notarized bill of sale stating this. The swap has ZERO emissions items which makes it next to impossible to legally inspect/register the car in most areas.

If you choose to register the car you are on your own. Many of the items deleted from the car are required to pass most state inspection and emission laws. You will need to add these things back to the car if you want to legalize it.

This car is very far from perfect, it has been on racetracks, drift courses, etc. and that is what you should intend to do as well. If that is not what you have in mind this is not the car for you.

You should also understand that this car was built in my garage for fun and not at a high end performance shop. As you work on the car you may come across some things that you don't like. The solution is to re-do it your way not to complain about how awful I am at fabrication to your friends on the internet. You are buying someone else's project. Understand that or do not waste both of our time.

Currently there are several items that need addressed:

-The cooling system is not adequate, the car will run hot in traffic and need a cool down after a few passes on a drift course.

-The power steering has a leaky pressure line, this is a modified E36 325i line and simply needs replaced (I should have this fixed as soon as I find some free time)

-The exhaust sucks to say the least. It is leaky and rattles excessively

-The front windows pop off track regularly

-Paint job sucks, and paint is flaking off of fenders from rubbing already.

-Driveshaft needs balanced or replaced it vibrates annoyingly above 60mph.

-Transmission syncros are worn. Reverse Grinds, second is tough to downshift into.

-Several gaskets on the engine have begun leaking, most noticeable when the car is driven hard at higher rpms.

-Many areas of the car could use gone over or redone completely. (paint, dash switches, exhaust, etc.)

I am asking $6500 for the car. That price is firm, is not up for discussion and I will not sell you just my wing or my wheels. If I decide to part the car out you’ll see a post for that.

I am not interested in your shitbox e36 325i in a trade. I am interested in a 95’ Manual transmission M3. NO OTHER TRADE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

I do not need to sell but I am finding that free time to keep up with a car like this just isn’t available like it used to be so I’d be better off with something a bit more tame for weekend fun.

Here is a link to the build thread so you can see how the car has progressed over time.
