Up for sale is my 1990 Mercedes 300te wagon. 190k pretty clean interior blah blah blah...
Started life in my possession as a sweet cheap reliable daily hauler of anything. But what I quickly realized was that the rear self leveling suspension was out and parts were more than what the car is worth.
Ordered this kit http://www.slsconversion.com and hoped for the best. Rode like garbage. Air shocks not as cool as everyone says they are. There was no middle ground they were like steel rods in place of shocks or they were floppier than the blown SLS. Nothing inbetween.
So I played around with fitment of standard shocks and none seemed to work as they all bottomed out or didn't fit right. Then by chance and using jeg's amazing ability to search for shocks by size I stumbled across the magic combination. 1969 dodge charger drag shocks. Mericuh.
So with those installed the rear rode like a Cadillac on a road made of glass. But no it can't be that simple. The rear end now sat at its current ride height. That left the front at stock height and that just looked plum ridiculous. So logical next step cut them front springs. They grow back right?
So that's story of how this sweet wagon got so low. Now as far as reliability its an old Mercedes and I'll let you take that statement for what it is. That's the motto of this car "it is what it is". But its my daily so I'm sure if you treat her nice she will give you many years of rubs and scrapes to come. Open to trades but I have an e30 that gobbles money faster than a pig eating slop so cash would be nice. $2200 obo
