  • UK E46 M3 with 11.25js of awesome

Regrettably I have to put my M3 up for sale due to leaving my job. £9450, located in Somerset, pm me or call 07878 439738.

I have only owned it for 8 months or so but in that time I have invested thousands into it to make it exactly as I have always dreamt that I wanted one and in maintenance and upgrades,

It's a Steel Grey prefacelift Jan 03 car, so one of the last Steel Greys you can buy, with 97k on the clock and FSH.
It also has imola red leather interior with many options.

As you can see from the pics it has been adorned with some of the finest wheels money can buy, ACS type II 3 piece split rims, rebuilt to an enormous 18x11.25j rear (with stainless steel dishes) with 18x9.5j fronts.

Below is list of spec, modifications, upgrades, condition and maintenance.
All items Ive added a price to are items I've added within the last 6 months.

    Body
Steel Grey in pretty good condition for its age and miles.
There are a few marks, ie chips, light scratches etc when you look closely. It is a car that gets used daily and has done 1500-2000 miles a month so I haven't gone as far as prepping it for concourse but it gets washed properly by hand each week and polished regularly and I do my best to keep it tidy as it's my pride and joy.
It has had the front bumper "debricked" and repainted due to heavy stone chips.
It has one rust patch on the rear arch but this is around the size of a 5p piece and I may get it repaired before sale, time and sale price dependent.

I am probably selling it down as I want to be honest but it is still the cleanest car Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a lot, and looks very smart.

Black front and side grills £80 (original chrome will come with)

    Lights
    OEM Xenons - auto lights
    Depo smoked indicators £50
Aftermarket LED facelift rear lights £150

    Engine
Stock (as far as I know) with a recent rolling road print out from Fritz Bits BM specialists at 350.8hp
Brand new OEM water pump (last week) over £300 (should be over £500)
Replacement viscous fan, blades, aircon fan. £150
Recent oil service, only OEM filters, Castrol M specific oil etc 11,000 miles to next sevice. £200
Also had new spark plugs, good ones but I forget the brand £70
Clutch delay valve removed (if you don't know what this is google it)

    Chassis
BC BR coilovers with 30 way damping adjustment, new drop links and Caster / Camber adjustable top mounts £800
    Front LCA poly bushes £50
    Front ARB poly bushes £25
    OEM front brake discs £400
    New metal brake lines £100
Rear subframe removed completely to trace any floor cracks (if you aren't aware of this major issue with M3s google it)
2 small cracks found and repaired.
Whole floor wire wheel'd clean, Redish Motorsport floor re-enforcement plates welded in and extra stitch welding where floor meets inner arches as per Redish's reccomendations. £200 for the plates, £300 for the labour, £100 in other materials (most specialists charge £1100 + vat for this job.but I luckily have a friend that welds.
Cleaned again with wire wheel, etch primed, seam sealed and painted with underbody paint.
Rear subframe bushes replaced with Powerflex Poly £100
Rear trailing arm bushes replaced with powerflex poly £75
New peugout exhaust clamps to replace BMWs rotten ones. £20
New Wheel speed sensor on rear £50
    4 wheel alignment £100

    Wheels / tyres / fitment
AC Schnitzer Type II 3 piece split rims.
    Fully mirror polished,
    18x9.5j et 30 front with 235/40/18 Continentals
18x11.25j et17 with 255/35 Wanli fitted. The rears have stainless steel dishes.
All wheel in good condition with just a few light marks when looking up close.

These wheels sell for no less than £1500 without tyres, sets in the states Ive seen sell for $3000

The front wheels fit perfectly and have no clearance issues at current ride height. In fact the front could definitely come down further as they are or even more with a 225/40/18 fitted. They sit almost perfectly flush with the arch edge.

The rear wheels poke about 1" outside of the arch.
If, like me, you like a bit of stance / euro look then this will be perfect for you.
With a little arch roll and a little bit more camber they could be tucking easily enough, the E46 M3 the wheels came off had the wheels tucking with 285/30/18 fitted after having his arches pulled a bit.
This does mean that currently they will rub under compression.
There are various ways to deal with this, arch rolling and camber as I mention above, raising the ride height which is easy to do with current coilovers, fitting bump stops on the rear or just living with it like I have etc.
I can arrange to set the car up as you please, higher and softer for someone that is going to use it daily and wants drivability or lower and sillier for the stance kings out there. Personally I think it's got a good compromise at the moment.

    Interior
Imola red leather in reasonably good condition. Drivers seat show more signs of wear than others obviously but not major saggy bits, no holes or splits, as a well looked after 100 thousand mile seat should look really.
Seats are 3 stage heated, are fully electrically adjustable including upper and lower lumbar support, side bolster support and memory settings.
Plastics are all ok with small areas showing use, titan silver door trims looking worn as is common on these.
Harmon Kardon hi-fi with a Mini disc head unit and 6 disc CD changer, sounds very good but some tunes do make the door tweeter surround rattle
Aircon works ice cold, recharged this summer £50
Cruise control, stereo controls, OBC, Auto wipers, auto lights, all traction / sensors /warning lights working as should without issue (well the aftermarket rear LED light can throw a bulb out light up occasionally but goes out once lights are switched on).

    Spares
Comes with original suspension in good working order - missing rear springs due to them cracking
Spare second hand coil packs - comes in handy if one goes until you get time to buy new
Spare secondhand clutch - hardly used clutch pressure and friction plate from a breaker, only done a few miles and looks new, bought just in case as it was so good and so cheap.

When I bought this car only 8 months ago it was on ebay with a starting bid of £8000. As you can see I have spent a considerable amount of money on it making it how I wanted.
Pretty much most of the scary issues for M3 owners have been dealt with, the biggest being the rear floor / subframe issue which can cost from £1320 - £3500 to put right through specialists or BMW.
Even with there being some 6-7k M3s for sale on the market currently there's literally no way anyone could buy and replicate this car for the money Im asking.
I know, I was trying to do just that rather than buy a 10.5k one from Ireland 9 months ago.

If it doesn't sell as it is I will consider selling it for £7750 without the ACS wheels and BC suspension, returned to OEM.

As you can tell by my long ass advert I love my car, Im gutted to have to sell it but it's something I have no choice about at the moment. If things change for me with work I will take it off sale so act now if you're interested.

No test drivers unless bringing cash for full amount or clear insurance that covers my car.

That sounds like quite a lot of hard work tbf buddy.
I'd take £8000 without wheels but you would have to look into all the shipping details etc to see what would have to be done.
