**I know I just reduced the price, but I just found a car that I want to replace this with so this thing HAS TO GO IMMEDIATELY**
**New price while the car I want is still for sale--$1000 ABSOLUTLY FIRM--I need this gone now!**
Up for sale is my 1984 Jetta. I am just ready for something rwd so this has to go. I bought it back in May as a summer project/fun car thinking I would keep it over the next few years, but I have since changed my mind. I bought it off of a guy who owned it for two years, but in those two years he never drove it. As a result the gas went bad etc. I have replaced a lot of the fuel system along with belts, drained the tank etc to get it back running and driving. It runs and drives perfectly The only issue with the car right now is that the car developed a hot running issue around early August. Basically when cold the car will run and drive without a hiccup. When the car gets up to temp though the motor wont keep idle and will die when you are stationary or moving at very slow speed and it will not restart until it cools down again. If you are driving at speed while the car warms up it wont die. Again, it is only when the car is moving slowly or stationary. I didn't have time to dive into the problem since I had to leave for school in August.
So with that explained, onto the rest of the car.
The Car in General
-Indiana Red with Beige tweed interior
-1.6l gas
-166k but the odometer broke with the previous owner (he didnt drive it at all and neither have I so it to be safe I would say that the actual mileage is around 170k)
-4 Door
-Working COLD A/C
-RUST FREE except for very very small bubbles that are beginning to form on the windshield frame and on the trunk floor. Also a spot above the Volkswagen emblem on the trunk which is the most noticeable.
The car is all stock except for 13" enkei 92s and a plastic front euro bumper which I put on there.
Exterior
-Overall the exterior is in great condition.
-No dents or major dings
-There are some scratches here and there, but nothing major at all.
-There is a spot of rust above the Volkswagen emblem on the trunk where the paint has peeled.
-There is a circular place on the roof where the paint has previously peeled, but it hasn't gotten any worse since I have owned it.
-The amber corner light on the drivers side is cracked.
-I replaced the tail lights with nice crack free ones.
-Most of the seals are somewhat dry rotted. They don't let in water though. (There is a very small leak coming from the rain tray into the cabin though)
Interior
-Radio delete/turned into a cubby.
-Steering wheel has a small rip in it.
-Drivers side seat has two small rips
-The dash has a blemish right below the a/c controls
-There is a speaker missing from the front drivers side door
-Other than that the interior is in great shape.
Motor/Trans
-Trans is perfect. Shifts great. Clutch was replaced by the previous owner.
-Motor runs great other than the hot running issue mentioned earlier.
-Replaced all of the belts except for the timing belt.
-New fuel filter and lines.
That is basically every single detail about the car. Overall the car is in great shape. It just needs some help as do all mk1s.
The car is currently being kept/worked on at JK Auto in Summerville, SC while I am at school.
I am asking $1300 Kind of firm on that price.
I would entertain trades for e30s or any other equivalent manual rwd cars. I can add a little bit of cash on top.
I will also trade for a b4 vr6 passat wagon. Once again, I can put a little cash on top.
On to the pictures:

The spot on the roof with flaking paint.
