I've decided to sell my project blk over tan 1985 635csi factory 5spd. It's a two owner car with clear title. I bought it as a non running parts car. PO told me it was sitting for about 2.5years. I was really digging the type 1 schnitzers so I went to uhaul rented a truck and trailer to take it home. I have a spare battery in my garage so i put it in to see what would happen. Turned the key and it cranked over. I added about 5 gallons of fresh gas and it started right up. very rough idle, then it stalled out. there was a huge crack in the intake boot so I replaced it. the ignition wires were also out of sync. the wire for cylinder/spark plug #1 was on #6. so i matched everything up. turned the key and not only id it it start up immideately but it idled smoothly too.
I cleaned it up and had a friend help me with tidy up the interior. besides the intake boot and gas i bought hood shocks and subframe bushings. the suspension is bouncy too. brakes are fine. i drove the car around the block a few times. the clutch engages as it should and its tight. also no excessive play in the shifter. it does have rust on its right fender and quarter panel but its only surface rust. i tried to push a screwdriver through but the metal is still strong. has no exhaust leaks and no motor leaks. it definately could benefit from new hoses. windows and sunroof works as well as the power seats.
looking to trade for an e28 or e30 iS or something german. id also sell it out right for 3k. this would be a great car to finish anyway you like and has the factory 5 spd. the pics were when i got it back to my friend's garage and cleaned her up. thanks for looking. i welcome any comments, questions or concerns.
